Surface or precision treatments and finishes carried out in Pinasca
There are many companies, active in the most diverse industrial sectors, that choose to commission precision mechanical parts from companies such as Data F., specialising in third party machining and performing precision surface treatments and finishes on metals.
Thanks to the high specialisation achieved and the large machine fleet, which includes 35 machining centres and 23 numerical control lathes, the company is able to guarantee compliance of its products with the contractual requirements.

Milling, turning, grinding and EDM
At the headquarters in Pinasca (Turin), the company has 2 departments specialised in milling for the processing of materials with any type of geometry and high precision turning, capable of maintaining constant repeatability during production. Finally, there is a department dedicated to grinding and EDM, capable of obtaining results characterised by very low roughness. All stages of production are developed internally and the assemblies, including burrs, repairs of parts and hydraulic calibration, are performed with hydraulic presses and furnaces for hot planting.
The workings
Tests and inspections
The precision parts, also used in the aerospace sector, are delivered by Data F. to the finished client and can also be made with subcontracted materials. Surface treatments and special control and testing processes are also carried out in dedicated departments, performed through non-destructive tests that use penetrating liquids and a video recorder. These systems are qualified by GE avio srl, Leonardo spa and Agusta Westland Spa, leader in magnetic particle control.
Professionals in the sector
Precision machining for the aerospace sector
To operate in the aeronautical precision machining sector, it is necessary to obtain the UNI EN 9100 relating to quality systems, issued by the national accreditation program for suppliers in the defence and aerospace sector. The Data F. mechanical workshop has received this prestigious certification and is today in a leading position among the suppliers of medium and large companies in the Italian mechanical and aeronautical industry.
Microengineering components
The Turin-based company manufactures precision mechanical constructions, such as aerospace and microengineering components, used in applications where precision and complexity are decisive elements. Constructions, assemblies and mechanical components for civil and military aeronautics are made of aluminium, carbon steel and stainless steel, titanium, plastic materials or special alloys and finally assembled and tested at the company headquarters.
CNC machining for the aerospace sector
The work of technicians and engineers and the use of numerical control machines have allowed the company to establish itself internationally and to satisfy prestigious clients, including Alenia Aeronautica, leaders in the production of military and civil aircraft, Agusta Westland, helicopter manufacturer, and the historic Avio, the leading name in the world aerospace propulsion sector. Among the references of Data F. Ansaldo STS also stand out, leaders in the field of high technology for railway and metropolitan transport.
Precision mechanical and aeronautical constructions
For the execution of precision mechanical constructions for the aeronautics sector, Data F. has special systems and is in possession of the EN 9100 certification which is essential for operating in this sector. Thanks to 50 years of experience in the supply of industrial and aerospace components, it offers itself to large companies as a partner for the design of high precision mechanical parts, for their production and assembly, as well as for the various surface treatments to which they are subjected.
Manufacturing is followed in all its phases by specialised internal departments. The mechanical assemblies made by this company from Pinasca, in the province of Turin, are then subjected to rigorous tests, carried out inside a metrological room equipped with measuring instruments of all kinds. Non-destructive tests are then carried out using magnetic particles and fluorescent penetrating liquids, in specific chemical laboratories.
In recent years Data F. has invested in the purchase of 46 numerically controlled work centres, 42 lathe with numerically controlled and staff training. Also for this reason, today the company has become an international reality in the supply of mechanical components, not only for aeronautics. Indeed, among its customers there are some of the most well-known names in the transport sector - both air, rail and metropolitan - Leonardo Helicopters, Ge Avio, Collins Aerospace, Faiveley Transport, Magnaghi aeronautica, Agilent Technologies, Skf.
